Rural France can seem a little like stepping back in time upon arrival, both on holiday and as a French resident. Indeed, that’s part of the charm, the attraction of escaping our hectic lives to the calm and tranquillity of la France meant that more than 8.5 million Brits holidayed in France in 2018*.
Enticing as they are, embracing traditions like buying a daily baguette or making jam at home might seem a bit of a stretch to add to an already busy life. But, I now know first hand that it is possible to integrate some of the unmissable elements of French living into our more modern lives, even if we don’t have a great deal of time (or money) to spare.
Using smartphone apps to augment our spending power and save time is something that some of us are already used to. The good news is that France is embracing more and more ways of saving money by making use of the possibilities offered to us online.
