First off a welcome that is as warm as our early summer weather to our November issue! Blame the extreme heat wave conditions in the hinterland for what scientists are terming the heaviest El Nino phenomenon since it was first recorded in 1950. But besides the heat there are bass to be caught as the South Africa’s top 50 anglers demonstrated at 2015 SABAA Nationals held at Tzaneen. George Robey and Duncan Murfin went behind the scenes for the insider stories. Also in this issue Protea angler Guy Paulet explains in detail how to double your chances when a bass misses your bait. We also stopped over at Wagendrift Dam and discovered a fishery that pleasantly surprised us with its healthy bass and fantastic scenery.

The Bass Angler Description:

The Bass Angler/Die Baarshengelaar is a specialist monthly bass fishing magazine which emulates high quality American bass fishing magazines in style and layout, but provides a South African take on competitive and recreational bass fishing. The Bass Angler covers all aspects of bass angling in South Africa – from the beginner weekend warrior to the competent social boat and bank anglers, right through to the top echelons of the competitive scene with the fullest support of the South African Bass Angling Association and semi-professional bass angling tournament trails.
