The theme of this edition is 'Dissolution of Ego'.
We are all spiritual beings having a human experience. We have an outer shell that is formed by Body, Mind and Emotions; and the Inner Essence or Soul. As spiritual beings our only goal is spiritual growth. One of the biggest obstacles in the path of spiritual growth is the ego. Over-identification with the outer shell is called ego. The Physical, Mental and Emotional Bodies together form the outer shell and they carry the past memories, imprints and defense mechanisms, which consolidate to form an ego structure. Just as dark clouds prevent and block the radiant sun, too much identification with this 'Outer Shell' or 'Ego Structure' limits the experiences of our soul, as and as a result we cannot understand the essence of our soul.
There are certain ego identities pertaining to physical body, mental body and emotional body, which form the dark clouds and prevent us from seeing beyond them. Examples of these are - Identification with our appearance, beauty, power, money, name, fame etc., which we experience as either gross ego or subtle ego.
