LOS FANTASMAS DE LA MEMORIA
Percibir algo es aportar significado a un estímulo. La consciencia humana recibe una imagen con la que elabora una especie de fotografía mental a partir de la que se estructurará el recuerdo de esa vivencia. Esa imagen no es sólo visual, sino que es multisensorial y profundamente compleja, porque es producto de la transformación de algo fugaz en algo más persistente. Nuestro presente incorpora un efecto de barrido sobre nuestro pasado, por lo que en cierto modo cada momento del hoy contiene infinitos momentos del ayer, es un instante de tránsito durante el que se van poco a poco interiorizando recuerdos envueltos de emociones porque cuando se rememora, gran parte de lo invocado se nos muestra como una imagen espectral, fantasmagórica. Casi todo queda distorsionado porque la mente, como el amor, si se les deja, se olvidan.

THE GHOSTS OF MEMORY
Perceiving something is to give meaning to a stimulus. Human consciousness receives an image that it uses to create a kind of mental photography that it will structure as a memory of this lived experience. This image is not only visual, but multi-sensory and profoundly complex: it is the product of a transformation of something fleeting into something more persistent. Our present has a kind of sweeping effect on our past, and so in a way each of today’s moments contains infinite memories from yesterday. It is a moment of transition when memories wrapped in emotions are stored so when they are remembered, a large part of our evocation is shown as a ghostly, phantasmagorical image. Almost everything is distorted because the mind, like love, is forgotten if left alone.
