Did the mystery man in the photos know Marilyn?

Lost & FOUND

Gazing out of the bus window, Marilyn watched houses and shops roll by. She hadn't driven her car since the accident that landed her in hospital.

When the bus pulled up at its final stop, she avoided the usual rush to get off. It was only when she stood up that she saw the camera on the seat beside her. She picked it up, intending to give it to the driver, but there was a note taped to it that said: Don’t hand me in, my owner will collect me.

Marilyn glanced around. She was the last one on the bus. Frowning, she put the camera in her bag.

‘Public transport, don’t you love it?’ she said to her colleague Candice when she walked into the library half an hour late.

Candice grinned. ‘I love the fact that I live close enough to walk to work and don’t use it.’

Marilyn turned on her computer. Her duties as a library assistant were to process new books in the morning and help patrons in the afternoons.

At her morning tea break, she took the camera from her bag and showed it to Candice. ‘Someone left this on the bus.’

Candice peered at the paper taped to the front. ‘What's with the note, do you think?’

Marilyn shrugged. ‘I have no idea. I rang the bus company and left my number in case the owner contacts them.’
