Chan Khun had never even heard of a pie before he set foot in Australia almost two decades ago.
Today the popular baker, who now calls Victoria home, has been crowned the king of the nation's pies after winning the award for Australia's Best Pie four times over.
Chan and his family now work at their three bakeries, selling around 20,000 pies to hungry customers every week.
He vividly recalls the moment he took his first bite of a meat pie when he was working at a factory in 2004.
"We never had pies in Cambodia, but I'd see everyone queueing up for them at lunchtime every day - Australians love pies," Chan, 43, laughs. "They told me to try the traditional mince pie first and it looked good but didn't taste good! I had a different palate, so I wasn't used to it."
