Are the Australian Idol live shows in jeopardy?

KYLE'S HEALTH CRISIS

Seven is scrambling to find a replacement for Australian Idol judge Kyle Sandilands for the upcoming live shows set to start on March 3, after he revealed he was undergoing urgent brain surgery.

"I was told by my medical team that I have a brain aneurysm, and it requires immediate attention," the star revealed. "If it bursts, I die."

Kyle, 53, has revealed he will have to have the surgery within the month and could be out of action for up to eight weeks as he recovers, which will undoubtedly see him unable to appear on Idol's live shows.

At the time of going to press, Seven wouldn't comment on whether they are temporarily replacing Kyle and who that person may be.

One thing is for certain, it won't be Kyle's former panellist Harry Connick Jr, who left the show in 2023.

"He's never coming back," Kyle tells Woman's Day.
