While still in their 20s, Tasia and Drew Taylor became parents to two teenagers
-

When she was a little girl, Tasia dreamt of becoming a mum. She told her family that she wanted children as soon as possible - but none of them expected her to become a parent four times over by the age of 24, let alone to two teenagers. But Tasia Taylor and her husband Drew, 26, are parents to daughters Tamiray, 16, and Rory, 14, and son Isaiah, 12, after adopting them.
Between sports matches, overseeing homework and dealing with piles of washing, the young couple certainly have their hands full - even more so after recently welcoming their biological child Ashtyn Rose.
'People say we're too young to have adopted teenagers,' Tasia says. 'But we are really mature for our age.'
The couple, who met and fell in love as teenagers, decided to open their home to foster children after they got married four years ago. Drew, who is a teacher, explains, 'We've always wanted to do foster care, but envisioned it to be younger kids.' Then the couple were approached with the offer of taking in Rory. 'We didn't even know they would let us take a teenager. Rory was one of my students, Tasia, also a teacher, explains. 'She was our first foster placement and we didn't think we were going to adopt her, but then we did. Then we got the call about Isaiah, who is Rory's brother, and we took him in as well.'
It wasn't long before Tasia and Drew were asked to help another child. 'Tamiray is my cousin,' Tasia explains. She was being raised by their grandmother before Tasia and Drew offered her a home and formally adopted her too. Now the couple’s household is even more full of love, after the arrival of Ashtyn Rose.
