It seems today's Gen Z women just want a man to fund their lifestyle

Over 200 years ago, Jane Austen wrote, ‘It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife.’

Two hundred years ago! So why on God's earth are today's young women still making like the simpering, doe-eyed husband-hunters that even Jane herself was taking the mickey out of in 1813?

Did we burn our 1970s bras so that today's Gen Z women could pine for corsets, ringlets and a Mr Darcy to look after them for life?

Even more incredible is that the females doing this, in many cases, have good careers themselves. It's just that, well, they don't appear to want them – not when there's a fella with a huge bulge (in his bank account) willing to keep them in false eyelashes and designer handbags.
