Why is the WOMAN ALWAYS BLAMED?

When a man cheats, one party always seems to receive more criticism than the other. Woman investigates

Why is the WOMAN ALWAYS BLAMED?

When it comes to marriage, the vows we make, the promises of love, loyalty and respect, are commitments we truly hope will be upheld by our partners. But all marriages go through testing times.

Just recently McFly musician Danny Jones came under the spotlight when it was reported he was getting cosy with reality TV star Maura Higgins at the BRITs. Although it’s not clear what exactly happened, it left many of us questioning: what counts as cheating? Because while Maura is single, Danny has been married to his wife, Georgia, for 11 years and the pair share a seven-year-old son. Yet Danny and Maura were pictured appearing to cuddle and kiss at the event, and countless women up and down the country went home and had conversations with their own partners. Could a bit of drunken affection and flirting count as cheating? Could this be enough to end a marriage? Danny issued a public grovelling apology saying: ‘I want to deeply apologise to my wife and family for putting them in this situation. I love them so much and we’ll continue to deal with this privately.’

But as fingers were pointed and the usual trial by social media unfolded, it was Maura who was vilified. Branded a 'homewrecker', labelled 'disgusting', she was at the receiving end of most of the criticism.
