Kate's surprise NEW GMB ROLE

A PR expert reveals why the show 'really needs her' at this 'crucial time'
-
They say that the new year is a time for change, and nowhere is feeling it more than ITV Daytime. The start of the month saw Good Morning Britain, Lorraine, Loose Women and their presenters forced to adapt to their new formats and roles following the axing of 220 jobs in what has been described as a 'bloodbath'. Lorraine Kelly's much-loved show faced the brunt of the changes, being cut from an hour to just 30 minutes and only airing for 30 weeks of the year. Meanwhile, Good Morning Britain has taken the additional half an hour and will fill Lorraine's slot for the other 22 weeks of the year.
However, that isn't the only shift at GMB. Kate Garraway, who began working on ITV Daytime's GMTV in 2000 before moving to Daybreak and subsequently GMB, has been given a surprising new role. In addition to being the main news anchor, Kate, 58, is also now presenting the London news updates - no doubt cutting costs by eliminating the need for an additional newsreader.
