The normally chipper Michèle is sharing her gripes with the universe

Shout out to everyone feeling a little out of sorts – I’ve been looking around and I’ve noticed it’s not just me. Generally, I’d describe myself as “default mood: chipper”, but my internal Pollyanna is struggling in the face of current national and international events and, as trivial as it sounds, the weather isn’t helping.

What I’m seeing is large swathes of the general populace sitting somewhere between “mildly fractious” and “wildly cantankerous”.

Out in the world today, I heard a mother telling her kids off with that specific, “If I’ve told once, I’ve told you a thousand times” tone.

I almost wish I had some kids to shout at, to be honest. It’s a bit confronting to be generally irritated, then realise the person who is ticking you off is you.
