If you and your partner skinder about others after a dinner party, it could indicate you're in a happy relationship. A study from the University of California, Riverside, found that couples who regularly gossip - positively or negatively report greater relationship satisfaction and emotional connection. On average, couples spent 29 minutes a day gossiping, with same-sex couples reporting even higher relationship quality. And a study from Ariel University in Israel challenges stereotypes, finding that men gossip as much as women do, often more negatively in workplace settings, with women's gossip being more supportive, whereas men's is more competitive. Even children start gossiping by age 7! Love it or hate it, gossip is part of how we connect.
