JAIPUR JEWELLERY SHOW 2024

The 20th Jaipur Jewellery Show (JJS) was organised from 20th to 23rd December 2024, at the Jaipur Exhibition & Convention Centre (JECC) in Sitapura, Jaipur. With 'Rubies... Rare, Royal and Revered' as the theme, the show aimed to give an impetus to the gems and jewellery trade and to place Jaipur on the Gem & Jewellery world map.

Visitors and traders along with exquisite displays of jewellery, gemstones, artefacts and more were the stunning highlights of the event.

On Day 1, the Chief Guest and Minister of Industry and Commerce, Rajasthan, Mr Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore addressed the guests at the inaugural ceremony. “The Gems and Jewellery Industry contributes significantly to the State's economy, accounting for 17% of Rajasthan's GDP. The Jaipur Jewellery Show (JJS) plays a pivotal role in skill development among the youth, inspiring them to uphold and advance the rich legacy of gems and jewellery. The world's largest gem bourse should be established in Jaipur and the State Government will support this initiative,” he said.

Chairman of JJS, Vimal Chand Surana; Chairman of National Gems and Jewellery Council of India (NGJCI), Pramod Derewala; Chairman of All India Gem and Jewellery Domestic Council, Saiyam Mehra and Regional Chairman of the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), Nirmal Kumar Bardiya were also present at the ceremony.

JJS Honorary Secretary, Rajiv Jain recapitulated the highlights and traditions of JJS. “From a mere 67 booths in 2003, there are over 1200 booths this year. With 95% of exhibitors returning year after year, JJS stands as a testament to their trust and commitment,” he said.

The opening ceremony of the show was moderated by the Spokesperson of JJS, Ajay Kala who emphasised that the showcase brought together an exquisite range of precious and vibrant colour gemstones.

The rising gold prices influenced a noticeable shift in consumer preferences at the exhibitions this year, with lightweight jewellery emerging as a prominent trend among visitors. Innovative designs in open settings, as well as traditional styles like Kundan Meena Jewellery and Parab Polki, showcased the perfect blend of heritage and modernity.
