Jumeriah Group to promote new hotels in Indian market

Long associated with its home base Dubai, Jumeirah Group has been aggressively expanding its footprint across the world, with properties in Europe, Asia and other GCC countries. In an interview with India Outbound, during his recent visit to India, Chief Commercial Officer, Alexander Lee says that besides its already popular hotels in Dubai, Jumeirah Group is keen to attract Indian guests at its other properties across the world.

Jumeriah Group to promote new hotels in Indian market

Q What is the key objective of this visit?

The key objective of this visit is to engage with both our B2B partners as well as individual travel professionals and the media, in order to expand the knowledge of the Jumeirah brand. We were born in Dubai 25 years ago, as Jumeirah Beach hotel. We are finding a really great awareness and affinity with the Jumeirah brand in Dubai, but many of our consumers here in the Indian market, do not know about our international growth and expansion. We are now at a stage where we have 25 hotels in many diverse destinations, we would like to raise awareness in the Indian market of some newer hotels.

How important is India for you? What is your strategy to attract Indian customers?

India is the number 1 in terms of inbound source market and we are very fortunate to have great support from the Indian customers in the Jumeirah brand already, so we are expanding our awareness for newer hotels and bringing the news of new hotels to Indian consumers. We have seen a similar level of contribution that we see in Dubai, in some cases on some national occasions. A great example could be our hotels in the Maldives, in Bali or closer to home in the GCC.

How has Jumeirah’s footprint grown in terms of new hotels?
