Coral Sands Inn & Cottages
HARBOUR ISLAND, BAHAMAS
THE VIBE: Meet the sassy ingenue (pages 28–29 and below) that this Bahamian enclave needed: a yearlong transformation of a local institution founded in 1968 by Hollywood actor Brett King and his wife, Sharon, and now owned by AJ Capital Partners. First stepping out in 2024 were 14 cottages (six garden facing, eight oceanfront) flaunting colors as bold and beguiling as the lush foliage that surrounds them, plus alluringly updated public spaces. Look for more reveals, including the inn’s guest rooms and Briland House, in late 2025.
STYLE MOMENT: The resort’s Pink Mermaid restaurant is a true expression of Bahamian joie de vivre and local craftsmanship, including 7,000 shells hand-pressed into its columns.
BOOK IT: Rates start at $800; coralsands.com.
Hôtel de la PlageCAP FERRET, FRANCE
THE VIBE: What a difference a vowel makes. Do not mistake this superbly revived, lovingly curated small hotel’s location as that bougie one on the French Riviera. That’s Cap Ferrat. Here in Cap Ferret, on France’s serenely authentic southwest coast, the tastes in this oyster-farming village run to shellfish, sunny strands, simple pleasures, and superb meals—all minus the hype—at the newly launched first hotel of Bordeaux restaurateurs Nicolas Lascombes and Stessy Faber. Taking two years to revive a 19th-century former dormitory and canteen for pine resin workers, the pair have created a jewel box of 12 rooms that is somehow both soulful and fun.
STYLE MOMENT: The main building’s painstakingly restored exteriors don a dreamy Gallic palette of cream and red.

DRUNKEN SAILOR
Few summer pleasures rival a round of boat drinks. They’re easy to make: Relying on a handful of easy-to-stow ingredients, a true boat drink comes together without fussy precision or technique. And they’re fun to drink: Glassware on boats has to be nonbreakable, which means using sturdy tumblers (best decked out in cheeky nautical motifs). Given that ease and enjoyment, there’s nothing more tempting than another round—which is perhaps why this cocktail has the name it does.
