What's the story?

OnePlus’s Nord series has been trying to redefine how much tech you can expect from an affordable phone for some years now. While the Nord 5's polycarbonate frame means it's more generic-looking than its all-metal predecessor, it doesn't feel cheap, and the frosted finish means it’s not nearly as slippy as some glass-backed phones can be. An IP65 rating promises a decent amount of weatherproofing too.

It's available with either 8GB or 12GB of RAM (we're testing the latter) and a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, which isn't the latest but helps to keep that price down.
