LG's mid-range OLED TVs have long been Stuff favourites, and the 42in C5 is a fantastic performer with a bump in HDR brightness that nudges it comfortably ahead of the outgoing C4.

The company's webOS is more cluttered than it used to be and the speakers are pretty basic, but if you want the best all-round OLED for your cash then the C5 is the one for you - not least because it's way, way cheaper now than at launch.

Sony Bravia 8 II (65in)

This isn't just an update to the Bravia 8, as the two tellies use significantly different OLED panel tech, with the 'll' version offering much more brightness and colour intensity.

That's because this is a QD-OLED panel, while the sound is boosted thanks to Sony's Acoustic Surface Audio+ trickery, where the entire screen acts as a speaker.
