Compact, capable and chic

No back-talk Although the watch supports Alexa and seamlessly integrates into the ecosystem, the lack of speakers means it's a one way convo!

■ At first glance, you may mistake the Amazfit GTS 4 Mini for the Apple Watch, Oppo Watch or perhaps even a Huawei watch. While this wearable offers the usual gamut of features you’d expect from a smartwatch, it truly ‘shines’ when it comes to the design and display.

■ The bevelled square shape paired with the smooth, vivid 1.65in AMOLED display, push button and touchscreen is pretty impressive for an entry-level smartwatch. It even comes with a well designed silicone strap available in four aesthetically pleasing colour variants. You really get your money’s worth from the screen real estate.

■ It tracks everything you require for daily activity including VO2 max, heart rate, sleep, stress and menstruation cycle. By default, it comes with manual tracking but you can turn on continuous monitoring at the cost of battery life.

■ So what’s the verdict? This watch does a pretty impressive job in all respects. If you are looking to get a watch on a budget, this watch won’t let you down. It does everything it promises and although it isn’t built for athletes per se, it does a good job at keeping you up to speed with all the data you require.

■ Apart from the stunning display and stylish design, it pretty much blends into the vast array of entry-level smartwatches out there, but it’s still worth a second look, given its price.
