All in for AI

Seemingly similar to last year's flagship, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is mostly about the innards. With advanced intelligence baked deep into its gut, this is the first step towards Al-for-everyone. Will it be life changing?

TESTED SAMSUNG GALAXY S24 ULTRA
If you’ve been a Samsung Note fan, you probably have been an Ultra fan. And if you’re an Ultra fan, the 2024 iteration is sure to go straight to the top of your list of ‘must-have gadgets’. The Galaxy S24 Ultra may not look like a big update on the outside, but the changes are both subtle and stark. A hairs breadth wider but with slimmer bezels and a flatter screen, it’s wrapped in a subtle titanium frame now. On the inside though, the starkness comes across various apps. Gallery, Messages, Phone Calls, Voice Notes and more get an AI boost now.
But with Circle-to-Search, essentially everything on the screen becomes an AI-assisted window to the world. Just long press the home button and mark out anything on the screen, from images to text and the S24 Ultra serves up a buffet of related tems. You won’t even have to leave the app or open Google Lens and it’s one of those things that makes the Galaxy S24 addictive to use.
Super pencil
The Note's legacy continues, but without any changes for 2024. It can hover to show options and is great for AI select and erase.
Display that dominates
It wouldn't be a Samsung flagship if the screen didn't leave our jaws on the floor. The 6.8in AMOLED screen has been made noticeably brighter and goes up to 2600nits peak. The Quad HD resolution and 120Hz LTPO retain the goodness of smoothness, with HDR support now for Instagram!
