Workstation Specialists is a regular in our labs test, with a solid focus on professional content creation systems. The WS AR-X8700 is another PC that delivers sensible components for the price.

Rather than the more expensive 3D V-cache version of the AMD Ryzen 9, Workstation Specialists has chosen the basic 9950X. This offers 16 cores (32 threads), along with a 4.3GHz base clock with 5.7GHz boost frequency, but it comes with 64MB of L3 cache rather than 128MB. The CPU is partnered with a decent 64GB of 6,000MHz DDR5 memory, supplied as two 32GB modules. Two DIMM slots remain free if you want to upgrade in the future.
