A beast that delivers a new level of performance to take advantage of the bright 240Hz OLED panel

- ALEX WAWRO

Lenovo Legion Pro 7i Gen 10

PRICE As reviewed, £2,700 (£3,240 inc VAT) from lenovo.com

Lenovo's latest 16in gaming laptop justifies its high price with a one-two punch of killer performance and a superb display. Frankly it's one of the most attractive machines I've ever reviewed.

That has much do with its OLED display. I've always loved the bright whites, inky blacks and sharp contrast of OLED panels, and it makes everything you do on this laptop look amazing, especially gaming in HDR and Dolby Vision. Every time I opened the lid, I was struck by how rich and colourful the screen looked.

I was even more impressed at the panel's technical performance. This thing is bright, more than 100cd/m² brighter than the HP opposite, with an SDR peak of 464cd/m² that climbs all the way up to 1,000cd/m² when viewing HDR content - and at the same time, it manages to cover over 100% of the DCI-P3 gamut (139% volume). Its accuracy is excellent, too, with an average Delta E of 0.29. You don't need this level of quality to enjoy games, but these are all pluses if you need a laptop for more creative tasks.

The screen is far from the only outstanding thing about the Legion. With its Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX CPU and Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 GPU, it's capable of running the latest games at more than 60 frames per second even at the screen's native 2,560 x 1,600 resolution.
