UnionDigital Bank drives real financial inclusion for unbanked Filipinos

In a country where nearly 38 million adults remain unbanked, financial inclusion remains more than a buzzword—it is a national imperative. UnionDigital Bank (UD), the digital banking arm of Union Bank of the Philippines, is meeting that challenge head-on through the launch of the Kaya Mo Movement, a bold initiative that turns digital banking into a tool of empowerment for Filipinos often left out of the formal financial system.

At its core, Kaya Mo is about more than technology—it’s about trust, access, and dignity. It's a commitment to reimagining what banking looks like for everyday Filipinos: sari-sari storeowners, delivery riders, informal workers, and daily wage earners.

“At UD, financial inclusion isn’t just a mission—it’s the lens through which we grow and serve our communities,” said Danilo Mojica II, president and CEO of UD. “We design technology around real people, helping every Filipino, regardless of income or background, access tools that empower them to take charge of their financial journey.”
