March 2025

The biggest rival to the newly launched Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is the iPhone 16 Pro Max. Folks who are thinking of buying either will definitely consider going for the other one as well. To make their job easier, I revisited the latest iPhone while also using the Galaxy S25 Ultra to judge the kind of contrast this move creates. Here's me giving you a detailed analysis to make the job of choosing between the two easier.

DESIGN AND USABILITY

The design philosophies of these devices are strikingly different. The Galaxy S25 Ultra boasts a sharp, rectangular form that exudes modern sophistication, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max favours ergonomics with its gracefully rounded edges, ensuring a comfortable grip. Both models also carry an IP68 rating, providing robust protection against water exposure. A standout feature on the Galaxy is Gemini, a function activated by a long press of the power button. This innovative assistant goes beyond typical capabilities, enabling users to execute secondary actions such as setting alarms or scheduling calendar events directly within apps. Although Siri on the iPhone offers similar tasks, it doesn't quite match Gemini's versatility. Nevertheless, Apple compensates with integrated ChatGPT, delivering prompt and thoughtful responses that enhance the user experience.

DISPLAY

Both smartphones deliver outstanding display performance, yet each carries its own signature appeal. The iPhone 16 Pro Max is celebrated for its sharp, true-to-life visuals, while the Galaxy S25 Ultra dazzles with its vivid colour reproduction. In direct sunlight, each screen proves highly legible—even when set to auto-brightness and viewed through sunglasses, a critical feature for outdoor use. Audio performance, however, diverges slightly: while the iPhone's speakers maintain clarity at all volumes, the Galaxy's speakers tend to become harsh when pushed to their maximum output.
