Atlanta Electricals expands 765 kV transformer capacity to renewable corridors

Atlanta Electricals is developing strategies aligned with the evolving landscape of the power sector. Anand Sharma shares more insights with EPR.
How is Atlanta Electricals expanding its capacity to align with renewable-led power-sector growth?
Atlanta Electricals has expanded its installed transformer capacity to 63,060 MVA across five manufacturing plants, including the new Vadod EHV facility and the UHV plant acquired under Atlanta Trafo. This has strengthened our portfolio from 33 kV transformers up to 765 kV, 500 MVA units, positioning us squarely within India's renewable evacuation and interstate transmission expansion roadmap. As India accelerates solar, hybrid and green-hydrogen capacity, transmission corridors in the 400 kV and 765 kV segments are becoming the backbone of renewable integration. Our recent order wins in solar pooling substations at Bikaner, Bijapur and Pugal reflect this structural shift. With an order book of ₹2,451 crore as of 31 December 2025, and the addition of a dedicated 5,000 MVA inverter-duty transformer line for solar applications, our expansion is not merely volume-driven; it is aligned to the evolving grid architecture under the National Electricity Plan and Green Energy Corridor initiatives.
