What is your 3-5 year vision for leveraging technology in procurement?

We are at the forefront of high-performance Construction Chemicals for Concrete Additives, Repair, and Waterproofing. To remain ahead of the curve and maintain a competitive edge, we rely on technology to maintain stock, predict demand, and track pricing across our raw material and packaging segments. Although most tracking is done with manual intervention and digital tools, such as resource management software, we are considering using AI-driven tools to streamline the system.

Our ISO 9001 system requires us to track supplier reliability, rating them on a points system to ensure quality, order fulfilment, and price trends. We also maintain databases of comparative Raw Material (RM) sources and distribute demand to our suppliers to maintain continuity in procurement. This helps us mitigate raw material volatility risk, enhance negotiation leverage, reduce total cost of ownership (TCO), and procure green and sustainable raw materials and packaging.

What are the primary challenges in implementing advanced digital technologies?

As a Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) in the Construction Chemical (CC) sector, operating in the speciality segment, the limited scale of operations is the most challenging aspect of procurement. With a portfolio of over 300 different formulations, each utilising a wide range of raw materials and additives, the process becomes very complex. Meeting packaging requirements that will withstand the rigours of transportation and construction sites also creates barriers to fully embracing and implementing advanced digital technologies in our production workflows.
