Apple described the Ultra Retina XDR display’s tandem OLED technology as delivering 1000 nits of full-screen brightness for both SDR and HDR content, with peak HDR brightness reaching 1600 nits.

This innovation provided exceptional control over color and luminance, enhancing detail in both bright and dark areas of images and videos.

Now, this advanced display technology is being applied to micro-OLED screens. Samsung and LG have successfully developed prototypes that incorporate tandem OLED into micro-OLED displays.
