APPLE TV ORDERS SEASON 4 OF SHRINKING
AppleMagazine
|January 30, 2026
Apple has renewed Shrinking for a fourth season, extending the comedy-drama beyond its originally envisioned three-season arc and signaling continued confidence in one of the platform's most consistent performers.
-
The renewal was announced Tuesday, arriving just one day before the third season premieres on Wednesday, January 28.
The decision keeps the series on track as Apple TV continues to lean into character-driven comedies anchored by established creative teams and recognizable talent, a strategy that has defined much of the service's scripted lineup over the past several years.
A RENEWAL TIMED WITH SEASON 3'S DEBUT
Season 4 was ordered ahead of any public response to the third season, indicating that internal performance metrics and long-term planning played a central role in the decision. Season 3 consists of 11 episodes, releasing weekly on Wednesdays through April 8, maintaining the same rollout pattern used in prior seasons.
Jason Segel returns as Jimmy, the therapist whose unconventional approach to grief and patient care drives the show's narrative, alongside Harrison Ford as Dr. Paul Rhoades. The ensemble cast remains intact, with the new season also featuring guest appearances from Jeff Daniels and Michael J. Fox.
Apple has not set a premiere window for Season 4, and production timing has not been disclosed. The company typically waits until later in a season's run to announce scheduling details for future installments.CRITICAL RECEPTION AND AWARDS HISTORY
