APPLE REVEALS MULTIPLE IOS AND IPADOS SECURITY FLAWS, URGES USERS TO UPDATE IMMEDIATELY
AppleMagazine
|November 07, 2025
Apple has released a set of critical security updates for iOS and iPadOS, addressing vulnerabilities that could allow attackers to execute arbitrary code, escalate privileges, and gain unauthorized access to user data.
-
The company confirmed that several of the flaws may have been actively exploited, urging all users to install the latest patches without delay.
The update, issued this week, affects iOS 18.1.1 and iPadOS 18.1.1, with similar fixes delivered to macOS and watchOS. Apple credited multiple independent researchers and internal teams for identifying the vulnerabilities, which span components including WebKit, Kernel, and foundational system frameworks.
DETAILS OF THE SECURITY FLAWS
Apple's security documentation lists more than a dozen vulnerabilities addressed in this update. Among the most serious are WebKit flaws that could allow maliciously crafted web content to execute code with elevated privileges. The company described these as memory corruption issues and logic validation errors that could be triggered simply by visiting a compromised website.
Another patch targets a Kernel-level vulnerability that allowed apps to read sensitive memory regions or modify system behavior. Apple said this issue may have been exploited in the wild, though it did not specify which attacks were observed or how widespread they were. Additional vulnerabilities affected image processing, Bluetooth connectivity, and CoreCrypto modules, which handle encryption and authentication operations.
The update also resolves issues in Find My and Contacts, where unexpected access to user identifiers could enable location inference or cross-app data correlation. Security researchers noted that these flaws illustrate how tightly integrated Apple's ecosystem has become—meaning that even limited vulnerabilities can potentially cascade across multiple services if left unpatched.Diese Geschichte stammt aus der November 07, 2025-Ausgabe von AppleMagazine.
