APPLE BRINGS SELF-SERVICE REPAIR PROGRAM TO CANADA, EXPANDING DIY OPTIONS FOR CUSTOMERS

Apple has officially launched its Self Service Repair program in Canada, allowing customers to order genuine Apple parts, manuals, and tools to repair their own devices.

The expansion marks a significant step in Apple's ongoing effort to balance consumer demand for repair access with its emphasis on quality and safety, and it comes amid growing regulatory pressure in North America to strengthen “right-to-repair” options.

HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS

Through the Self Service Repair Store, Canadian customers can now access the same parts and tools available to Apple Authorized Service Providers. The catalog includes replacement components for iPhone models ranging from the iPhone 12 through iPhone 15 lineup, as well as some Mac computers with Apple silicon.

Customers who purchase parts will also be able to rent specialized repair kits directly from Apple for a fee, eliminating the need to buy expensive equipment outright. Each repair kit is designed to meet Apple's exacting specifications, ensuring users can safely complete tasks such as replacing displays, batteries, or cameras.
