Plumtree earns a Wales return

TAINE Plumtree has revealed the changes he has made to his game which have helped him earn a Wales recall.

The Scarlets back rower was left out of the original squad for the Six Nations, but is now back on board for the tour of Japan following an excellent second half to the season.

He says the feedback he received from the Welsh management following his omission at the beginning of the year has helped him turn things around.

"There was a lot of stuff about my smarts around defence and breakdown," explains the 25-year-old, right. "I think I was averaging about two or three penalties a game in one block of the season. I had to look at those penalties and think how I could do better by not going for a jackal or a barge, but going out in the defensive line instead.

"It was also a case of getting my physicality in defence right.
