Daly calls for another All Black demolition

Daly calls for another All Black demolition

ELLIOT Daly has not had a crack at the All Blacks in five years but has urged England to revisit the masterplan that toppled them in 2019.

Daly started in the highlight of the Eddie Jones era when he was full-back in the Red Rose outfit’s 19-7 demolition job in the World Cup semi-final in Yokohama.

Since then Daly missed out on the 25-25 draw at Twickenham in 2022 and the two Tests down under this summer as he, and wife Michelle, waited on the birth of their first child, Orla, who arrived just before the opener against New Zealand in July.

Daly had beaten the All Blacks prior to 2019, he played all three internationals for Lions in 2017, but the day in the sun in Japan remains his highlight – and he wants a repeat dose on Saturday at Twickenham.

And after beating New Zealand in Japan, and as a Lion in Wellington, he knows how to get the job done.

The full-back/wing, 32, said: “2019 is the favourite. The whole thing of being in a World Cup, being in a semi-final, them not losing in a World Cup knockout for however many years. That was one of the best moments for me.
