Simon Thomas goes for Munster centre Tom Farrell as his URC Player of the Season

Bulls lead charge in pick of the finest

15. Blair Murray (Scarlets)

Excellent on the wing, but even better at full-back where his counter-attacking brilliance has had full rein. Has also shown his finishing prowess by being the competition's joint top try-scorer in the regular season with nine touchdowns.

Mention too for Geronimo Prisciantelli who ate up the metres for Zebre and Cardiff's consistent Cam Winnett who remarkably played all but 13 minutes of the league season.

14. Darcy Graham (Edinburgh)

Arguably the player most unlucky to miss out on EDINBURGH selection for the Lions tour of Australia. The side-stepping Scotland winger must be an absolute nightmare to play against such is his elusive nature. He made the joint-most clean breaks (23) during the season and was also in the top five for defenders beaten (57). Elsewhere, the Sharks' Ethan Hooker may have a forwards' surname, but there's no doubting his threat as a back.

13. Tom Farrell (Munster)

My URC player of the season. His stats speak for themselves. He was joint-top for tries scored (9) and defenders beaten (62), made the most carries (244), successful carries (110), offloads (43) and post-contact metres (236). He also demonstrated his creativity by winning the league's Playmaker award and, on top of that, he figured in every game, with only Cardiff's Winnett playing more minutes. What a signing.

12. Sione Tuipulotu (Glasgow)

Looks certain to be a key figure for the Lions when he returns to the land of his birth this summer. He can use his power to cross the gain-line, his feet to fix defenders and his passing ability to put others into the gaps he creates by drawing concerned opponents on to him. He really can do the lot. A major word too for the remorseless carrying of the Sharks' Andre Esterhuizen.

11. Jacob Stockdale (Ulster)
