DAVID IS RELISHING CLARETS CHANCE

NEW recruit David Longe-King admits it’s an “exciting time” to be at Chelmsford City after joining the full-time revolution at Melbourne Avenue.

Defender Longe-King joins the Clarets after ending a third spell with St Albans City, where he played 43 times and scored three times in National League South last season.

It means the former England C fullback gets a second crack at full-time foot-ball at the age of 30 having previously played in the EFL with Newport County and Grimsby Town.

“I’m delighted to be here, the deal has been in the pipeline for a while now so I’m very happy to get it sorted,” said Longe-King, who spent two years at Dagenham & Redbridge before a loan spell at Eastleigh led to a second return to St Albans last summer.

“I came out of full-time football last year so to get the opportunity to do that again is great for me and it will be great for the club.
