BRADFORD City boss Graham Alexander knows all too well that clinging onto clean sheets is the bedrock of any promotion charge and he couldn't be happier with who he has entrusted with the task.

GAFFER SALUTES SUPER SAM

Tuesday night's 1-0 win at Bromley sent the Bantams powering into second place in the League Two table and marked a fifth straight league game without conceding.

The victory in south London was a 13th shutout of the season for keeper Sam Walker, who made an extraordinary point-blank save in the dying seconds to deny Omar Sowunmi. Alexander is full of admiration for the 33-year-old shot-stopper.

Spotlight

"I'm so happy to be talking about Sam because all too often it's the goalscorers who get the attention," said the City boss, whose side were on the road again at Salford yesterday.

"Making a save like he did in the final minute was the equivalent of a striker scoring. It salvaged three massive points and gave him a much-deserved moment in the spotlight."
