BONGEKA GAMEDE (NORDSJÆLLAND, DENMARK)

Gamede has emerged as a first-choice centre-back for South Africa since the international retirements of Janine van Wyk and Noko Matlou. She was a rising star at the University of the Western Cape but made the switch to FC Nordsjælland in Denmark in 2024. They were runners-up in the league last season.

LINDA MOTLHALO (GLASGOW CITY, SCOTLAND)

The key midfielder is in her second spell at Glasgow City in Scotland, the dominant team in that country. She has also had two spells in the National Women's Soccer League in the United States, regarded as the best women's football competition in the world, and played in China and Sweden. She remains arguably Banyana's most technically gifted player, but is perhaps not robust enough for the bigger, more physical leagues.
