Johnny Percival visits Scotland to savour one of the most impressive golf resorts in the country at Cabot Highlands, which now boasts two courses
-
Since opening in 2009, Castle Stuart has become one of the finest links tracks in the country. Situated ten minutes from Inverness Airport, the course is a must-visit, and it has recently been joined by a brand-new layout, Old Petty, designed by esteemed architect Tom Doak.
The new addition is thanks to the 2022 acquisition of Castle Stuart by Canadian developer Cabot, which made its name in golf with award-winning properties at Cabot Cape Breton in Nova Scotia, Cabot Citrus Farms in Florida and Cabot St Lucia in the Caribbean, with Cabot Revelstoke in British Columbia coming soon.
At Cabot Highlands, you're greeted with a warm Scottish welcome, and the clubhouse facilities deliver premium comfort and cuisine with the traditional detail lovers of Scottish golf appreciate.
Let the fun begin
The Castle Stuart links will challenge golfers of all abilities while still offering a level of playability that keeps the game fun. Halfway round, I took time to reflect on my game while eating a superb pie and my overwhelming emotion was pure joy.
