The new season was just 65 minutes old when Mo Salah set his first record of the campaign, and he's carried on breaking them ever since.

Mo Salah's record-breaking season

Salah's poked goal at Ipswich was his ninth on the opening weekend of a Premier League season, taking him past the record shared by Alan Shearer, Wayne Rooney and Frank Lampard.

Since then, the list has been endless. On December 4, Salah became the first player to both score and assist in 37 Premier League matches, surpassing Rooney's tally. A fortnight later, he was the first Premier League player ever to reach double figures for both goals and assists before Christmas. On December 29, he became the first player in Liverpool's history to score at least 20 goals in all competitions for eight years in a row. On February 19, he became the first player in Premier League history to score 15 away league goals in a season (unusually, more than 60 per cent of his 2024-25 league goals at that point had come on the road). On February 23, he was the first player ever to score and assist in 11 Premier League matches in the same season, and the first to do so in any of Europe's top five leagues since Lionel Messi in 2014-15.
