"IF YOU WANT TO PLAY IN MIDFIELD, YOU HAVE TO DO THE DIRTY SIDE. I ENJOY IT -I GET A BUZZ OUT OF IT"
Forest have had an incredible season - how much have you enjoyed it?
It's been brilliant. Everyone has got to enjoy the moment. There's a wonderful togetherness in the team - we just have to keep doing the basics right, which is what we've built our success on.
How did you find joining a new club, after leaving boyhood club Newcastle in the summer? Did Chris Wood, your former team-mate, help you to settle?
It was hard leaving Newcastle, but it’s really worked out for me. To come to such a big club and do well is something I'm very proud of. It helps when you get into the team and perform - you earn that bit more respect within the group. I sent Chris a text when I moved and he said good things about the place.
What were your expectations, given Forest finished 17th last season?
First and foremost, I just wanted to get into the starting XI. It was a big target of mine to play in the Premier League week in, week out. Then it was to do well overall as a team. We brought in new faces, worked on a few things over the summer and started the season in a positive place. We knew that if we stuck together, we would be difficult to beat. It’s worked.
Was there a feeling early on in the season that you could push a lot higher up the table?
Definitely. If you look out on the pitch, the quality of the team - every player - is really high. Put it all together and we can go as high as we want.
How did Nuno Espirito Santo sell the club to you last summer?
