Tadej Pogačar stamps his authority on the race in the second week, leaving his rivals for dust
-
Stage 11, Wed 16 July
Toulouse > Toulouse
Winner: J. Abrahamsen
Yellow jersey: B. Healy
A hilly circuit in Toulouse was what awaited the peloton after the first rest day, perfect to awake the legs. It was a day of full-throttle action, with attacking from the very beginning to the very end. The winner at the end of the day was Jonas Abrahamsen (Uno-X Mobility), who was one of two survivors from the day's early break, as he outsprinted Mauro Schmid (Jayco AlUla). A chasing Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin-Deceuninck) was only just kept at bay. There was excitement behind in the GC group, too, as Jonas Vingegaard (Visma-Lease a Bike) launched an attack, and a late crash for Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates-XRG) briefly threatened to derail his race, but the action came back together.
Stage 12, Thurs 17 July
Auch > Hautacam
Winner: T. Pogačar
Yellow jersey: T. Pogačar
