Van Aert shows Worlds promise

Having placed second in the BEMER Cyclassics a week earlier, Wout van Aert went one better when he sprinted to victory from a small group at the Bretagne Classic in France on Sunday. The Jumbo-Visma rider beat breakaway companions Axel Laurance (B&B Hotels) and Alexander Kamp (Trek-Segafredo) into second and third place at the end of the 255km French race.

It was an important marker for van Aert, and confirms his status as one of the favourites for this month’s World Championship in Wollongong, Australia.
