1 "What're ya buyin'?" You can't not hear that phrase without hearing that voice and picturing the coat that goes with it. Resident Evil 4's Merchant is one of the most quotable characters in gaming and is a purveyor of fine weaponry. He also proves that you don't need a chic boutique or prime location to still do good business, you just need to fulfil a need and have a big coat with a lot of pockets.

Despite only getting a few lines and being a bit of a throwaway in the original Resident Evil 4, he gained such a cult following that he's since been fleshed out in the Remake. He manages to stock an impressive amount of weapons and appear exactly when and where he is needed. Like when Leon Kennedy or Ada Wong are about to fight a nasty baddie. It also helps that he's the only stockist willing to hang around the village, so he has the whole market to himself.

A haven of curious snacks, perfectly cut sandwiches and fried chicken, so it's no surprise that the Yakuza games have their very own chain of local shops. Poppo stores can be found throughout the series, and are modelled after real life Lawson and Family Mart stores. They're home to a range of simple food items and health boosts to take on your journey, and in some of the older games you could even use the store's microwave as a finishing move in a fight, or read from the magazine rack.
