Air Force Commanders' Conclave

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has said that India's armed forces demonstrated a highimpact, short-duration operational capability during Operation Sindoor, underscoring the Indian Air Force's growing role as a technologically advanced and strategically confident force amid a rapidly evolving global security environment.

Addressing the Air Force Commanders' Conclave in New Delhi on December 18, Singh praised the Indian Air Force (IAF) for the speed, precision and courage with which it destroyed terror camps during the operation, and for effectively managing what he described as Pakistan's "irresponsible reaction" following the strikes. He said the calm response of citizens during attempted attacks on Indian installations reflected widespread public trust in the armed forces, particularly the country's air defence preparedness.

"Usually, when an enemy attacks, people hide. But when Pakistani forces tried to target Indian installations, people remained calm and continued with their daily routines," Singh said, calling it a testament to confidence in India's operational readiness. He urged senior commanders to draw lessons from Operation Sindoor, emphasising the need for constant vigilance and a deep understanding of adversaries' offensive and defensive capabilities to retain a decisive edge.
