IZI Spectra Review

|May 2025
In the photography world, when someone uses the word “drone”, then the first thing that springs to mind is DJI. Only high-end professionals or the ones that use drones regularly might know more companies. And today we are reviewing a drone that is not only a competitor to DJI, but it’s made in India. This is IZI Spectra - a top of the line drone coming out of this startup based out of Madhya Pradesh. The IZI Spectra promises a lot but let’s see if it delivers on that promise or not.

All this is contained inside a carry bag that feels high quality. There's also the charging pad which can charge multiple batteries and a charging brick to connect to the pad.
WHAT'S IN THE DRONE?
The drone comes equipped with a 20MP 1-inch sensor offering a 90° field of view, roughly equivalent to a 28mm focal length, with an aperture of f/1.9. The camera is stabilized by a 3-axis gimbal.
It's capable of shooting 4K at 30fps, along with 2.7K and 1080p at up to 60fps. It supports a maximum bitrate of 100Mbps and offers an H-Log colour profile — though there are no pro-level codecs like ProRes. Still photos are JPEG-only, with no option for RAW.
Obstacle avoidance sensors are present in three directions - front, back, and bottom. The drone also features a wind resistance mode and a bottom-facing LED for better visibility in low-light or night conditions.
There are two 5000mAh batteries which promise a theoretical flight time of 51 minutes, based on their internal testing.
DESIGN & BUILD QUALITY
The drone is impressively built using high-quality plastic and weighs just 730g, classifying it as a micro drone. Its compact form allows it to fit into a regular camera bag with ease. Fully packed in its carry bag, the total weight crosses just 2kg - still very portable.
The camera gimbal is protected by a plastic cover, flanked by obstacle sensors. There are additional sensors and an LED at the bottom. The limbs fold inwards, keeping the drone compact when stored. A detail worth noting is the propeller configuration – A+B in the front and B+A at the rear.
However, there’s one questionable design choice: both the drone and controller use Micro-USB ports. A Micro-USB cable is included for charging the remote and for data transfer, should you choose not to remove the SD card.

The Rise of Street Couture Photography
Street couture photography has taken over fashion culture in a way few trends have before. It blends high fashion with real world grit, turning sidewalks into runways and everyday people into style subjects. This shift did not happen overnight. It grew from a mix of social media influence, shifting brand priorities, and a global appetite for authenticity. What used to be a niche style is now a major force shaping how fashion is captured, consumed, and imagined.
