Watchdog wants more health checks

More must be done to make adults aware of the midlife health MOT, a patient watchdog has said.

Healthwatch England found that more than one in three adults (36 per cent) are unaware of what the NHS Health Check is. And a new poll suggests that 55 per cent of eligible men and 53 per cent of eligible women have never been invited for the checkup.

The survey of 7,407 adults in England, conducted by Savanta, found around three in five had attended every health check they had been invited to - 62 per cent of men and 60 per cent of women.
