The Dyers' drive to revive the great British caravan holiday

EastEnders star Danny Dyer has long romanticised caravan holidays.

But when he was asked to revive a holiday park in Kent for a new TV series, it was initially a flat-out no.But after giving it some more thought, the 48-year-old wondered if he had spoken too soon and roped in his daughter - Love Island star Dani, 29, to try and transform the fortunes of Priory Hill in Leysdown, and turn it into the kind of place he loved visiting in the 1980s.

In The Dyers' Caravan Park - a new Sky One six-part series - the dad and daughter duo work hard to win over sceptical residents and staff, while improving the business and revamping the park to revive the British holiday tradition.

Ahead of release, Danny and Dani have been reflecting on their past caravan park holidays, working together and why this was an important project for them to take on.

What is it about caravan parks that evoke such memories for the pair?

"That's all I ever knew as a child; that was our holiday every year," says Danny. "It's a very working-class holiday. I would hang out with my nan, grandad, my aunts and uncles and cousins, it's such a beautiful thing for me.

"And it wasn't about money. It was just very simple.
