Teenager locked up for role in street robberies

A teenager has been locked up for a pair of robberies in Leeds city centre - one of which left his victim with a fractured cheekbone.

Giovanni Bandy was sentenced for the attack on Call Lane.

Giovanni Bandy, 18, of no fixed abode, was sentenced at Leeds Crown Court this week after pleading guilty to two counts of robbery and one count of fraud.

Prosecutor Joel Wootten told the court the first victim had been walking through Thornton's arcade in Leeds city centre at around 11.30pm when he was approached by the defendant and a second male. The pair demanded five pounds and then his phone.
