Spreading the word of palliative care across all our communities
Yorkshire Evening Post
|April 24, 2025
Martin House caters for a diverse range of people and places across Yorkshire, and over the past few years we have been working hard to ensure we are reaching everyone who needs access to children's palliative care.
Nationally, research published in 2020 identified that the prevalence of life-shortening conditions is greater among minority ethnic communities, and those living in areas of higher deprivation.
Martin House's own research also highlighted the need to reduce barriers to access and raise awareness of Martin House in areas of high prevalence and deprivation. As a result, we joined Martin House three years ago as cultural liaison officers based in Bradford, working with ethnic minority families.
