Sean Longstaff admits he and other Leeds United fringe players are 'chomping at the bit' to play more football after scoring the winning penalty at Birmingham City.

Penalty hero Sean was 'chomping at the bit' to get back in first team

Sunday's FA Cup penalty shootout win at St Andrew's was Longstaff's first start since picking up a calf injury in November. The 28-year-old was part of a much-changed Leeds side who rode their luck against Championship opposition, drawing 1-1 in open play before a 4-2 spot-kicks win.

Longstaff has been fit and ready to contribute since the third-round win over Derby County but five previous appearances have all come from the bench, totalling just 79 minutes. Competition is high and not just in central midfield, with football limited for those not currently in Daniel Farke's strongest XI.
