Our country is built on the help of immigrants

Once again there is a letter in the YEP (Thursday, June 26) quoting a non existant law regarding refugees.

This time Geoff Bayley joins the queue to proclaim that people leaving their home country to escape hostility towards themselves, or family members, 'have a duty' to claim sanctuary in the first country they come to.

As has been pointed out many times this is simply not true. I refrain from using the word 'lie' because I believe that this is something that those who use such words are saying what they WISH would happen not the reality.
